Simon is a professional piano teacher located here in the heart of Exeter. He teaches all ages and abilities across a range of different genres. He prides himself on helping students of all levels to reach their full piano playing potentical!

He was born in Bristol and started playing the piano at the age of 8 and shortly after adding the clarinet and saxophone to his studies. As a youngster Simon performed regularly and went on to win several competitions in his teens on the piano. Whilst studying for his music degree at Cardiff University Simon began teaching the piano and built up a significant student base in Cardiff. Upon graduating Simon studied for a PGCE at Bristol University in secondary music before starting a career as a music teacher, something that he has done over ever since.

For the past couple of years alongside his work within local schools Simon has been tutoring piano and singing privately and he has grown a thriving private music tuition practice. Simon is also well known for his work in musical theatre across the South West region, working regularly as a musical director for several companies as well as performing in pit orchestras.

He welcomes pupils of any age from beginners to those with more experience. Students can choose to work through graded exams if they wish, though many of my students choose to learn just for fun! His lessons are friendly, relaxed and tailored to each student helping them develop at their piano playing ability at their own pace.
