The Conservatory offers a comprehensive music program for adults including private instrumental or vocal lessons, ensembles, music theory and composition. Instrumental study is available in over 30 different instruments covering all styles of music. Does the Conservatory offer senior discounts?

Yes. Senior citizens who take a weekday lesson are entitled to a 10% discount. (some restrictions apply.)

Is financial aid available?

Financial assistance is available through the Mary L. Bianco and Robert Heath Adult Scholarship Fund. For more information click here.

Guitar for Absolute Beginners (as offered at the New York City Guitar School)
A step-by-step approach to the guitar for adults who always wanted to play but never had the chance. Learn to play popular and familiar songs in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Absolutely no prior musical experience required! All you need is the desire and the motivation. Limited to six students. Tuesdays 7:00 – 7:55 pm

Guitar for Near Beginners (as offered at the New York City Guitar School)

For those who have completed Guitar for Absolute Beginners, or those who are familiar with basic open chords and strums. Gain further mastery and confidence. Strum and sing great songs by artists such as Tom Petty, Nirvana, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Coldplay, Jimi Hendrix, Elton John, Johnny Cash, Green Day, the Eagles and more. Limited to six students.

Top 25 Classics for Bass
Learn to perform classic tunes by The Beatles, The Temptations, Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin, Rolling Stones and other top artists. Skills will include transcribing by ear, reading fluently, Improvising creatively, feeling the beat, memorizing, learning new styles and sounds. For bass players who already know how to read basic music notation, key signatures, time signatures. Limited to 7 students. Mondays at 7:00 pm

Bass Guitar for Adults
Learn the basics of bass guitar and the skills you’ll need to play in a band. Class will cover the essential elements of note-reading, rhythm, hand position, chord shapes and more. Build your technique, develop stylistic diversity, and gain confidence as a player. Limited to 7 students. Mondays at 6:00 pm
